Not your mamas „Bye 2015, hello 2016“ post…

This post was originally posted on Instagram, but I decided it makes quite a good Blogpost as well. Also, it is my first time posting something English on my Blog. The beginning of bilingual Purple Destination, yeah!
Not your mamas „Bye 2015, hello 2016“ post…
My intention is to challenge you to hug and kiss 2015 goodbye with gratitude, no matter what may have happened. Every minute is a new chance to change your mindset.
2015 is coming to an end and the time between the years is your opportunity to reflect the past 12 months.
Take a walk in nature, without your phone or music, no distractions. Walk without focusing on reaching a destination. Maybe meditate in the woods. Swim. Drink tea in your living room while going through your planner and/our journal. Maybe watch a campfire.
Take your time to reflect on your year. What did you achieve? What made you proud? What didn’t work and why?How do you want to FEEL in 2016?
What can you change to make next year better? What are 5 small (!) changes you can do in the first half of 2016 to get you closer to how you want to feel?
I don’t mean your usual worn-out new years resolution „Stop smoking“, „eat healthier“ „exercise more“. The reason these resolutions don’t work is because 1. they’re unspecific and 2. usually they are not 100& inline of what you truly want aka your core desired feelings.
A small change can be anything as simple as „smile to one person on my way to work, just because“. You will eventually smile more. Or, „wear bold red lipstick once a week, because it makes me feel sexy and like I can achieve everything“. It’s all about the small things. Setting your goals too high will make you fail because it seems so far away.
Dedicate the end of 2015 to doing things that make you feel „Hell, yeah!“. Dance in the rain. Sing in the shower. Or anywhere, for that matter – if it makes you feel good, do it! Put on your favorite music and dance like nobody’s watching – because they’re not, they’re staring into smartphones. Put on the expensive perfume because there is no such thing as a special occasion, life is the occasion. Write a loveletter – to your lover, yourself or even your future lover. Be present in the moment and DAMN, 2016 will start well. I double-dare you!

If you liked this post, let me know. I always love getting feedback from my readers, as I want to create content that is fucking helpful to you.

With Love,
Lea Satya.

Much have been said that the little things in life are always the big things. I am always afraid of the thought that I’ll wake up one day and I am already old, looking back with regrets and all I could do is to wish that time can be turned back, even just for a moment. I certainly won’t let that happen. You are definitely right. There is no use in dwelling on our past mistakes, grudges and shortcomings. After all, those are the ones that lead us into where we are today. We should learn to forgive and forget not because we are weak, but because we know that living with rage and hatred is not the path to happiness. We forgive because we deserve peace. When you learn to love your life, life will love you back.
